I am a Christian stay at home wife and mom. I’ve been married 16 years (same man consecutively) and have three daughters. In Jan 2007 I left the workforce to be fulltime at home. I am a licensed attorney and had a career in energy trading. Now I’m a coupon clipper and cook from scratch professional. I’m learning tons about reducing expenditures and enjoying the simple things in life.

Hi, you left a question on my blog in March about my bread recipe! Sorry, I just saw it.
The recipe makes about 3-4 loaves (depending on your bread pan size) and you do let it rise until double in size or for about 45 minutes to an hour! I hope that helps.

Hi,
I just read your post about meat shopping at Randalls. Aside from going after a holiday what is a good day to find those great meat deals? I stop by Randall’s every 2 weeks for meat but I can’t say I’ve seen any good “clearance” meats. Thanks!

You should ask the butcher at your particular Randalls. Mine told me I could even call them in the morning and ask what was being clearanced before I make the trip. About 9 am in the morning is good because they are putting new stuff in the case and can’t combine with the stuff on display the day before. It is hit and miss. Many times when I find the great deals, it is a back up the truck day. If you can get a lot when you find these deals, it works out great. Kind of like buying 1/2 a cow. But sometimes the unexpected cash layout that day can be problematic.
I’ve also seen it vary with stores. One Randall’s in Houston has great marked down dairy, but their meat markdowns are not as good as another. And it depends on the manager on duty.
Good luck.

I spend every Wed. afternoon riding in a golf cart with your Dad. we have a running dialog about politics and he told me today you were a Beck supporter. I am 79 years old and enjoy our weekly debates. He is usually 180 degrees opposite of my conservative which I feel is used to wind me up. I am neither a DEmoncrat or Republician but abhor what is happening in Austin and Washington, D.C. If I can get your “E” address I would like to swap messages.
